Counselling Skills & Tinnitus Care Pathway

Course for Audiologists includes expanded CBT for Tinnitus training and Clinical Supervision

The Counselling Skills and Tinnitus Care Pathway (CSTCP) has been running since 2011/12, including in Northern Ireland across the 5 health regions, funded by Health & Social Care Northern Ireland (HSCNI) where Specialist Sensory Social Workers and Audiologists successfully completed the training.

The course is currently being updated, soon to be available as online training, and is to include 1-1 clinical supervision throughout the training period and beyond. The clinical supervision will be provided by both Dr Christine dePlacido, recently retired from Queen Margaret University, Edinburgh and Debbie Featherstone.

Although based upon the successful format of the CSTCP, there is expanded training in the use of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) for Tinnitus. Audiologists can complete the training at their own pace, with the support of Clinical Supervision.

For more detail and to register your initial interest in this training, go to the Tinnitus Project website's Audiologists section
