Current & Planned Research

This clinic works collaboratively with the NIHR NHBRU (National Institute of Health Research, Nottingham Hearing Biomedical Research Unit), the leading UK Tinnitus Research facility at the University of Nottingham. My main NHBRU contact is Dr Derek Hoare, Senior Research Fellow (Tinnitus)

Completed (awaiting publication) Research Project

Evaluation of the on-line self-help Tinnitus E-Programme and NHS Expert Patient programme (PhD Project)

The Tinnitus E-Programme was launched on-line in June 2009. It is free to access and based on the materials used for many years in East Lancashire NHS for the Tinnitus Management Group Course (TMGC)

Current Research Project

Manualisation and feasibility study of audiologist-delivered counselling for tinnitus

RfPB funding acquired. I am co-author and co-trainer in the delivery of training to NHS Audiologists. The CSTCP (Counselling Skills & Tinnitus Care Pathway) course (details here) is one of two UK training courses accredited for this research
